Nitrosodiethylamine removal performance of modified activated carbon

Abstract This paper discusses the preparation of modified activated carbon (PAC-1) and its adsorption performance for nitrosodiethylamine (NDEA). The PAC-1 was characterized by SMS X-ray diffractometer, NDEA removal mechanism investigated. results showed that, compared with unmodified carbon, had a better effect after pre-soaking 0.8 mol/L permanganate (PM) 24 hours calcination at 400 °C 7 hours. Under conditions 8 g/L dosage, pH = 6, time 6 h, rate an initial concentration 50 mg/L reached 78.66%, maximum equilibrium capacity 4.916 mg·g−1, to increased 42.5%. number oxygen-containing surface functional groups prepreg, which can enhance rate. process on conforms pseudo-second-order kinetics, isotherm corresponds Freundlich model.
